Prize Money

There is currently $1000 ($1,100 effective beginning the 2011 season) worth of prize money awarded annually. All prize money is distributed via personal check within one week of the last day of the MLB regular season. Prize money is broken down as follows:

Overall Finishes

1st place $400
2nd place $200
3rd place $100
4th place $50

Category Finishes

Wins $25 Runs $25
Saves $25 Home Runs $25
K's $25 RBI $25
ERA $25 SB $25
WHIP $25 AVG $25

If more than one team has a claim to any award, that award is divided by the number of owners who have earned it. So if three teams all tie for the Home Run championship, each of them earns $25 divided by 3, which is $8.33. If two teams tie for the overall championship, those teams share the awards for both 1st and 2nd place. In this case each of them earns $600 divided by 2, which is $300. Etc.

Newly Added Awards

"Most Improved Owner" Award - greatest increase in total category points  $50
Hank Aaron Award - Most points from all hitting categories  $25
Cy Young Award - Most points from all pitching categories  $25

The 3 above awards were approved in December 2010 for the 2011 season.  Should there be any ties in any of these 3 categories, the awards will be distributed equally.

[Edit 9/27/11:  The extra $100 for the Newly Added Awards was not collected for the 2011 season.  As a result, no prize money will be allocated for this group.  The implementation will begin in the 2012 season.]
